Karachi unrest case: SC seeks detailed police report till Monday |

KARACHI: Expressing dissatisfaction at daily Karachi
reports, Supreme Court directed police authorities to present a detailed report
on arrests of target killers and challans by Monday.
A two-judge Supreme Court bench took up the Karachi unrest case in Karachi
registry today (Wednesday).
On Tuesday, the apex court expressed displeasure at police performance and
summoned IG Sindh, AIG and DIGs to appear before it.
During the hearing, the apex court ordered police to share details of progress
made on cases of grave nature.
Top police officials appeared before the court and tried to satisfy the judges,
but the bench remarked that the police must improve its performance and share
details of target killers’ arrest, money extortion’s cases and challans.
Sindh police Chief Wajid Ali Durrani told the newsmen after hearing that 16
target killers and 10 money extortionists had been arrested during last few days
by the police.
He said Chaudhry Aslam is a capable police officer, who achieved key successes
against the criminals and terrorists.
