KARACHI: Expressing dissatisfaction at daily Karachi reports, Supreme Court directed police authorities to present a detailed report on arrests of target killers and challans by Monday.

A two-judge Supreme Court bench took up the Karachi unrest case in Karachi registry today (Wednesday).

On Tuesday, the apex court expressed displeasure at police performance and summoned IG Sindh, AIG and DIGs to appear before it.

During the hearing, the apex court ordered police to share details of progress made on cases of grave nature.

Top police officials appeared before the court and tried to satisfy the judges, but the bench remarked that the police must improve its performance and share details of target killers’ arrest, money extortion’s cases and challans.

Sindh police Chief Wajid Ali Durrani told the newsmen after hearing that 16 target killers and 10 money extortionists had been arrested during last few days by the police.

He said Chaudhry Aslam is a capable police officer, who achieved key successes against the criminals and terrorists.
